Driftwood Trees

Driftwood treesAnyone who’s strolled on a beach has no doubt come across a piece of driftwood. But have you ever come across an entire group of trees? When I saw these driftwood trees, I just had to take a photo! If you take a closer look, you can see all the barnacles attached to the trees. As I got closer, it was apparent that these trees had been on the beach a long time. It’s always interesting to think about where the trees came from and how they made their way onto the beach. If you’re the type who enjoys making your own cards, a photo like this would be great to put on the cover. No matter the occasion, a photo like this will stir the senses and create a sense of wonder.

The Creature in the Sand

Creature in the sandAs I was walking on the beach I kept seeing all these holes in the sand. Most of the sea creatures in them were buried deep and couldn’t be seen. Then I came across this one and noticed a creature inside! It looks like a crustacean of some sort, but I’m not exactly sure which variety. A photo like this would be great in a scrapbook or framed and put on a table. It’s a great conversation piece and will allow you to regale your guests with stories of your adventures. What story will you tell with your pictures? I’m sure your stories will be both entertaining and fun!

The Shell in the Grass

Shell on the grassWhen I saw this shell in the sand I thought it would really stand out against the green grass. So, I moved it and took a picture. I love the contrast of the earth tone shell against the sea grass. Once again, it’s the simple photos that make the biggest impact. The photo of the shell against the grass is awe-inspiring. The combination of earth tones and green is always a great color scheme to use in your space. Try having your basic color schemes in neutrals and then use pops of green to add interest. Not only is this classic, but will give your space a chic beach look that can be enjoyed all season long.

The Frolicking Sea Gulls

Frolicking sea gullsWhile at the park I mentioned in my previous posts, I saw a few sea gulls playing near a small stream. This stream was actually man-made to recreate a piece of habitat that was previously lost. Either way, the sea gulls seem right at home! It was awesome seeing this stream reborn and flowing towards the open water. The sun sparkling on the water emphasises the bright, sunny day. Need a pick me up during office hours? Take a picture on a sunny day and put it in your office. It will provide a ray of sunshine and remind you of fond memories of nature!

The Wooden Spoon

Wooden spoonWhile strolling the beach mentioned in my previous post, I came upon this piece of driftwood. When I saw it I immediately thought it looked like a wooden spoon. I like driftwood, and it’s always interesting to see how it becomes shaped and changes due to its time in the water. Do you have any photos of interesting shaped driftwood? You can display individual photos on a shelf or create a photo album or scrapbook. Remember, you can find more than just shells on a beach. From shells to wood to sea life, the shore is full of interesting objects that are sure to capture your eye and make a great photograph!

The City Park Beach

City park beachThis past weekend I decided to go exploring! There was a city park I wanted to check out, so I went there not quite knowing what to expect. After parking, you make your way through the park until you see a sign for the beach. It looked more like a random path, but down I climbed. After a few minutes of walking down hill, you see a peek of water through the trees. Once you come out of the trees, you’re met by a beach and glistening water. The beach was covered in shells, and closer to the trees were native plants and grasses. It was wonderful looking out at the water and seeing the various types of sea life. It would be great to display a grouping of similarly themed photos together to remind you of fun in the sun. No matter where you are, you can look at the pictures to remind you of sunny days and fun times!

The Glass Sea Shell

Glass sea shellThis picture is from the same exhibit mentioned in one of my previous posts. When I saw this piece, it reminded me of sea shells I’d find along the beach. Though I doubt it’s suppose to be a shell, I couldn’t help but make the comparison. Over the years I’ve purchased small glass shells in various colors that I picked up on vacation. They’re great for displaying on a table or grouping together in a bowl. They can usually be found in gift shops along the coast, online, or at a craft store. Glass shells are a great way to add a touch of the ocean to any space. No matter your space, you can have a reminder of the ocean anytime you choose.
