This year I decided to pare down my normally ornate tablescape. Instead, I decided to use a handful of elegant pieces to decorate my table for Thanksgiving. They include a crystal bowl and vase, along with two glass pumpkins. The vase is filled with a collection of multi-colored flowers and foliage. The bowl is filled to the brim with faux leaves, and is topped with several small pumpkins. The look is finished off with two pumpkins in different shapes, patterns, and stem colors. As in previous years, these decorations consist of items I already own. Trying out a minimalist look is not only an easy way to try something new, but also allows your favorite pieces to stand out instead of blending in with your decor. No matter how you decorate for the holidays, you can easily transform your tablescape into a minimalist beauty!

A Christmas Tablescape
Happy Christmas Eve! Above is my tablescape for this year’s dining room table. It features a variety of items in different textures. Out of everything on the table, only three items were bought this year; everything else we already owned. I prefer to use things we already own as much as possible not only because it’s more economical, but also the items have more meaning. In addition, the crystal bowl behind the town scene is filled with brightly colored bulbs and bows, which brings together both traditional and modern holiday colors. Wishing you all a festive and fun Christmas Eve!
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving! Below is a photo of my less-is-more approach to this year’s Thanksgiving table. It features a large crystal bowl filled with silk flowers and various types of stems, a crystal vase, a hand-blown glass pumpkin, a white and gold church, miniature pumpkins and gourds, and maple leaves. In addition, all of the items were things I already owned, proving that you don’t need to constantly buy new things to have stylish decor. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and will stay tuned for more great decorating ideas from Inspiration In A Photo!
Adding Accessories to Your Living Room
While our living room was pretty much put together, it felt like something was missing. Our coffee table seemed a little too bare. The solution? Add an accessory! My Mom came up with the perfect idea: a bowl filled with various objects. She found the items (a bowl, objects of various sizes and textures, and a place mat) on sale and brought them to me to put together. As seen below, it looks absolutely gorgeous on the coffee table! The second picture shows a close up shot of what the bowl holds.
The colors and textures in the bowl complement the rest of the decor throughout the space. In addition, the carved eggs are something we picked up years ago while on vacation. Overall, this addition costs less than $20! If you want to give your space a new look, all you need is a little imagination and some old treasures to transform your space into something chic and glamorous!
Bridge of Glass: Ceiling
This is a picture of an art installation, named the Seaform Pavilion, adjacent to the museum I’ve previously blogged about. The ceiling is part of the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. It’s part of a bridge that spans over a highway and links two different museums. As I was crossing the bridge I was surprised to look up and see this beautiful ceiling. I love how they layered the various pieces above the main glass panel. Though it may seem impossible, you can get this look in your very own space. If you have a glass table with a display space underneath, you can layer various glass pieces from a craft or second-hand store underneath. You could also purchase a shallow bowl or apothecary jar and use the same layering technique to display you favorite pieces. The best part? Since you created it, it will be the perfect reflection of your style and personality!
