As I meandered from one trail to another I was amazed to see how the grasslands and wetlands became intertwined. Where one ended, the other began. There’s usually such a distinction between the two that when I saw the area pictured to the right, I just had to snap a photo! I love the golden hues of the grass in the foreground that’s sparsely populated by a few trees, followed by the reflective blue of the water. Further beyond that you can glimpse a neighboring island and clear, blue sky. A soothing, serene image like this would be great hung in a bedroom! The earth tones would go with any décor, and the beautiful imagery would send you off to sleep to a gorgeous, nature dreamland.

The Bird in the Backyard
Yesterday as I was working on my Christmas decorations I was alerted to visitors in the backyard. I looked out and was surprised to see a group of birds having a bite to eat. I’ve never seen this type of bird before (do you know what type it is?), so I decided to take a photo and put it on my blog. I love the different types of wildlife you encounter throughout the year! A photo like this would make a great Christmas gift for anyone that has a passion for birds or nature. Additionally, due to its neutral palette, a picture like this would also look great on a wall in any space. Be sure to stay tuned for great design ideas for the holiday season!

The Shell in the Grass
When I saw this shell in the sand I thought it would really stand out against the green grass. So, I moved it and took a picture. I love the contrast of the earth tone shell against the sea grass. Once again, it’s the simple photos that make the biggest impact. The photo of the shell against the grass is awe-inspiring. The combination of earth tones and green is always a great color scheme to use in your space. Try having your basic color schemes in neutrals and then use pops of green to add interest. Not only is this classic, but will give your space a chic beach look that can be enjoyed all season long.
Ducks at the River
One day I saw these two ducks preening by the riverbank. At first I couldn’t get a good shot, but I was eventually able to get the picture featured in this post. The ducks are framed on either side by trees and below by grass. You can even see the ripples of the water. This is not only a great picture, but the colors are a great inspiration for Spring decorating ideas. I love the earthy tones of the flora and the colors of both ducks’ feathers. Looking for new colors to decorate your space? All you need to do is look at nature for inspiration!
Give Your Cubicle A Window
Do you, like me, currently work in a cubicle? If so, you know what’s it’s like to not have a real window. My solution? Create your own! I used color paper to create grass, trees, a bush, sun, and clouds in my cubicle window. Not only did this allow me to be creative, but also gives me something nice to look at-plus I’ve already received several compliments on my work. Have a faux window in your cubicle? Try creating your own window this week. You’ll be surprise how much you, and others, will enjoy it.
