The Sun Drifting through the Pine

Split pine with sunHello, and welcome to my 100th post! I decided to post a picture of this unique looking pine tree I noticed along a walking path. I was even able to take the picture with the sun shining down through the upper branches. I love finding unique pieces in nature! Not only are they fun to look at, but they’re also free. A photo like this would look great in a den or office. The earth tones go with any decor, and the sun shining down gives an element of warmth to any space. Next time you go to your local park or beach, look for the uniqueness in nature. Once you take a photo of what you find, you can bring the outside in and create a feeling of warmth all year long.

Here’s to another 100 posts-look for more tips and great things to come!

The Tree Trunks

Tree trunksIt was a warm summer day as we walked down the path to find the beach. Off in the distance there appeared to be a trunk with mushrooms growing out of it. Once I zoomed in with my camera, I realized it was actually a shriveled up vine. Either way, this shot makes a great picture. I love how the two trunks frame the photo with the vine in between and green foliage in the background. I love it when nature frames a shot for you! This not only looks cool, but it’s fun to pick out all the little details in the picture. Notice the moss, branch, or details in the vine? You can take a similar picture anywhere there’s lots of greenery (park, beach, your own yard, etc.). No matter if your nature-made frame is tree trunks, flowers, bushes, or even water, you can have a photo that’s both beautiful and full of nature!

The Blue Heron

The Blue HeronOne of the many creatures that visits my local lake is the Blue Heron. It’s a treat to see one, but they’re rarely close enough to see. But on this occasion, it decide to catch dinner near the shoreline! Luckily I had my camera with me, so I was able to snap several photos. I watched the bird as it would carefully look into the water and then quickly lower its beak in to catch some fish. I couldn’t tell if it was successful or not, but I enjoyed watching it nonetheless. It’s amazing to see nature in action. Have a nature lover in your life? Next time you see amazing wildlife take a picture and give it as a gift. Nature is a beautiful thing, so why not give the gift of its beauty in your very own photo?

Looking at this picture I took overlooking a lake near dusk, I can’t help but be inspired by the colors of nature-browns, blues, white, cream, pinks, etc. They’re all great colors to use this time of year.
