Spring Into Winter

When it comes to tables, this time of year often includes Fall or Winter-themed place settings. However, why limit yourself to these options? My solution? Mix in elements of Spring! As seen above, this place setting includes an orange houndstooth placemat, plate with a flower pattern, two styles of napkins, and the silverware tied together with fabric that matches the placemat. Aside from a unique place setting, this was also inexpensive. The orange houndstooth is fabric left over from a craft project, the plates are paper and were picked out by my Mom, and the napkins were bought on sale at a big box store. Remember, trying a new look for the holidays doesn’t have to be expensive. With a bold flair and a little imagination, you can have a beautiful table!

Thanksgiving Decor: The Table

Happy Thanksgiving! In my last post, I’ll be showcasing the dining room table. I decorated the front half of the table with leaves and various types of faux pumpkins and squash. In addition to the centerpiece in my previous post, I also added a bit of whimsy by having a cute little turkey peeking out from behind the vase and angels.

The placemats (below) are both functional and tie together the room’s colors and decor. Another great idea? In front of each placemat, place a folded piece of textured paper and sit it upright. While mine is currently blank, you can use yours to add well-wishes, write your guests’ names, or create a mini piece of art.
