Earlier this week I received two lovely bouquets from people I work with (it was Administrative Assistants Day). They were two different varieties of flowers, but I thought they would look awesome together. I combined a bouquet of pink roses and several bunches of lilacs into a vase and viola: instant glamour! I love how the lilacs provide additional visual interest between the vase and the roses by filling the space between them. These flowers provide a great pop of color to my desk, brightening up an otherwise plain space. There’s nothing like being able to lean over and take a whiff of fresh flowers! Adding flowers to your desk or office is a great way to add color and interest to your space. No matter what type of flowers you choose, you can have a space that brings spring inside for you to enjoy!

Purple Flowers by the Lake
It’s amazing how you can see different types of foliage at different times of the year. An example is the purple flower pictured on the right. I have no idea what species it is, but I thought it was a very pretty and unusual flower. I love the crispness of the flowers in the foreground and the soft, blurry background of this photo! It reminds me of one of my favorite color combinations: purple and green. This could be the basis of a new color scheme for your space, or you could frame a similar picture and display it as a pop of color. Remember, pops of color can easily be found in nature. All you need to do is capture them on camera to bring nature’s pops of colors into any space!
Beach Flowers
As I was walking on the beach I noticed some color out of the corner of my eye. I turned to investigate and found some beautiful purple flowers. It’s always interesting how flowers can thrive in a beach environment. I love the combination of green and purple-it’s such a lovely combination! In fact, it would make a great design theme. Adding in pops of purple and green, or a similar floral pattern, is a great way to bring the summer vibe into your space. Remember, it doesn’t take a lot or time of money to spruce up your space. Whether you opt for a whole room update or a quick addition to a couch or shelf, you can easily bring a summer vibe into your space!
The Iris
A few years ago we planted some Iris bulbs in our front garden. Every year they’re one of the first plants to sprout. As you can see from the picture, ours are a lovely yellow and purple color. These colors go together beautifully and are a great example of coordinating spring colors. Want to integrate this into your decor? There are several simple (and economical) ways to accomplish this. You can take a photo of flowers with similar colors in your garden and frame it, add throw pillows or colorful shams, place your plates on colorful chargers, or buy flowers (real or faux) and display them in a glass vase. How will you use spring colors?
